GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a disturbing series of events, 28-year-old Dillan W. Stephens faces serious charges following incidents of alleged indecent exposure and lewd behavior. Stephens is accused of exposing himself twice in a single day, alarming the local community.
The unsettling occurrences began on the evening of November 24, around 6:38 p.m., at a shopping center located at 1459 NW 23rd Avenue. An employee from one of the businesses witnessed a man standing outside with his pants lowered, engaging in inappropriate behavior. When confronted, the man left the vicinity.
Unfortunately, the ordeal did not end there. Approximately an hour later, at 7:40 p.m., the same individual reportedly reappeared, this time in the presence of a juvenile employee and her mother. The man allegedly pulled down his pants, made deliberate eye contact, and resumed his inappropriate actions.
Thanks to detailed descriptions from the victims, officers from the Gainesville Police Department were able to locate Stephens nearby. At the time of contact, Stephens was reportedly dressed in the same attire as described by the witnesses. One of the victims was able to positively identify him as the perpetrator, solidifying the case against him.
Post Miranda, Stephens reported declined to answer any questions.
Stephens, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition and two counts of indecent exposure. He has no previous local criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $4,000.
