A Massachusetts teenager is behind bars after he allegedly killed his older brother during an argument with a gun that held an extended magazine.

The Fall River Police Department said in a press release its officers responded Saturday afternoon to a home in the 900 block of Rodman Street for a shooting. Officers arrived to find Simmons suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he died.

Prosecutors said Lambert and Simmons were in a physical argument at the home. Their mother tried to separate the two by pushing Simmons into his bedroom. Lambert allegedly left the area but returned some 30 seconds to two minutes later holding a firearm with an extended magazine.

“The argument resumed and the defendant shot his brother in the chest, killing him,” a prosecutor said, according to a video of the hearing from Providence, Rhode Island, CBS affiliate WPRI.
