A South Carolina man shot his girlfriend dead with a 12-gauge shotgun “after an argument,” then went out to his porch to kick back and relax, with cops finding him “eating potato chips, smoking cigarettes, and drinking a beer.”

Alexander Harmon, 35, was found guilty last week of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the slaying of Katelin Crocker, 19, in June 2018. The 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced his conviction in a press release on Monday and recounted the events that led to Harmon being thrown behind bars after he jumped bail in November 2018.

“On June 2, 2018, Harmon’s father alerted Kershaw County dispatch. He reported that Harmon confessed to shooting his girlfriend, Katelin Crocker, after an argument,” the solicitor’s office said. “Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at Harmon’s home around 2 a.m. They found him on the porch, eating potato chips, smoking cigarettes, and drinking a beer. Harmon told deputies that Crocker was dead inside.”

Harmon told cops that Crocker had the shotgun first and it “fired during a struggle” over it at Harmon’s home, according to prosecutors. Crocker was found inside with a single gunshot wound to her head.

Police took Harmon into custody and charged him with murder. A circuit court judge granted Harmon a $150,000 surety bond in November 2018 and he posted it that same day before he “soon fled South Carolina,” according to prosecutors.

“While on the run, Harmon used the alias ‘Sean Daldry,'” the solicitor’s office explained. “He obtained government documents, insurance, and vehicle registration under the false identity.”

Over half a decade after skipping town, “Daldry” was caught in December 2024, “communicating” with a 15-year-old “runaway” in Florida. Agents tracked him to an Iowa motel and arrested him after a brief chase.

“Law enforcement confirmed ‘Daldry’ was Harmon through fingerprints,” the solicitor’s office said. “He was extradited to South Carolina in January 2025.”

Harmon told cops that Crocker had been staying with him on an “off and on” basis, according to The State newspaper. It’s unclear how the two of them met, with Harmon being nearly 10 years older than Crocker at the time of her death.

“She was an honor graduate of Fairfield Central High School’s 2017 class, a violinist, and a talented licensed cosmetologist,” Crocker’s obituary said.

“She was employed at Ulta in Sandhills as a Beauty Expert, and aspired to be a make-up artist to the stars. Now she is a star herself,” the obit added. “She was a joy and light to all she met, Daddy’s little Princess, & our obnoxious, hard-headed diva whose heart always led the way.”
