Inset: Christian Alejandro Fonseca (Webb County Sheriff’s Office). Background: The 100 block of St. Pierre Lane in Laredo, Texas, where Christian Fonseca allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend on Friday (Google Maps).
A 20-year-old Texas man went to his ex-girlfriend’s house and began jumping on the hood of her current boyfriend’s vehicle, which prompted him to come outside — sparking a confrontation that ended with the new suitor being stabbed, cops say.
Christian Fonseca allegedly went to his ex’s residence in Laredo at around 1:48 a.m. on Friday and began attacking her boyfriend’s car, according to local NBC and ABC affiliate KGNS and the Laredo Police Department.
The woman, who lives in the 100 block of St. Pierre Lane, remained in the home while her new boyfriend allegedly went outside to see why Fonseca was jumping on the hood of his vehicle. Cops say an altercation ensued and Fonseca allegedly tried getting to his ex-girlfriend by barging through the front door.
The two men began scuffling with one another and Fonseca allegedly plunged a knife into the new boyfriend. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and Fonseca was located several houses away from his ex’s home after police were called to the scene by the ex.
The Laredo Morning Times reports that Fonseca was under a criminal trespass warning after earlier harassment complaints were filed against him. Court records show that he was previously busted in August for resisting arrest and criminal trespass. He was released on bond following the arrests, per the Times.
It’s unclear if those alleged crimes had anything to do with the ex-girlfriend. The Laredo Police Department did not respond to Law&Crime’s requests for comment and more information.
Fonseca was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the latest incident on Friday. He remained behind bars without bond Sunday.
