GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Davron Darelle Keith, 22, was arrested yesterday after he allegedly threatened to shoot a juvenile and battered a woman at a residence in Alachua County.
At approximately 7 p.m. on September 26, Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Hidden Oaks Mobile Home Park. The female victim told deputies she had been arguing with Keith after refusing to give him money for drugs. She said Keith put his hand inside her mouth and grabbed her jaw.
The juvenile male victim then left his room to defend the woman and became involved in what was described as a scuffle with Keith. After breaking free, Keith allegedly told the woman, “imma shoot your son.” He then went to his room and retrieved a blue bag.
Keith allegedly reached into the bag and said he had a gun. The juvenile left the room, while the woman called 911. Keith reportedly departed the residence before deputies arrived.
The woman said she never actually saw a firearm, but believed Keith had one because of his statements and movements. She also told deputies that, although she had never seen him with a gun, Keith had previously claimed he kept one in the blue bag.
According to the responding deputy, the woman had a small cut on her face, another cut inside her lip and blood on her right shoulder.
The juvenile victim told deputies he heard Keith arguing with the woman before hearing her say, “Get your hands off of me.” He said he saw Keith standing over her but did not see him strike her. The juvenile said he hit Keith to move him away from the woman.
After Keith broke free, the juvenile said Keith stated, “finna shoot jit,” which he believed was directed at him. He said Keith entered a room, returned with a bag and reached inside as though he had a gun. The juvenile also said he never saw a firearm but believed Keith had one based on his words and gestures.
Both victims told deputies that Keith had cut himself earlier that day.
At about 9:40 p.m., deputies learned Keith had returned to the residence. They set up a perimeter while he remained outside the home. When deputies ordered him to get on the ground, Keith allegedly ran. He was arrested after a brief foot chase.
Deputies reported that Keith continued trying to pull away and reached toward his waist, prompting them to use a Taser. After being read his Miranda rights, Keith reportedly said the woman had cut him earlier in the day. He said he did not call 911 because he did not want anyone to get in trouble.
Keith reportedly admitted pushing the woman and said he grabbed the juvenile after the juvenile struck him. He claimed both victims then came after him and that the woman was holding a knife.
Keith said he only pretended to have a gun in the blue bag and denied possessing a firearm or threatening to shoot anyone. He told deputies he ran because he “did not want to go back to jail.” The bag was later found at a nearby property, but it contained no weapons, and deputies did not locate a firearm.
Keith faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against the juvenile victim, domestic battery against the woman and resisting an officer without violence. His criminal record includes a juvenile conviction, two adult felony convictions and one adult misdemeanor conviction. He is currently on probation for aggravated stalking and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent under the age of 24. In November 2025, he was ordered to forfeit his firearm after entering a plea of nolo contendere to the firearm possession charge.
Judge George Wright ordered Keith held without bail pending a hearing on the State Attorney’s Office motion to keep him jailed without bail until trial. If the motion is denied, bail will be set at that hearing.
