Jason Hannon (Spring Township Police Department).

A Pennsylvania man allegedly pinned down a woman on their bed, strangled her and held a pair of pajama pants over her mouth, which prevented her from breathing, during a domestic violence incident.

Jason Lee Hannon, 44, faces a slew of charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation and terroristic threats, the Spring Township Police Department said in a press release. Police responded to a home shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Monday after a passerby heard a woman screaming “help, help, help” and “get off me,” a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime said.

A woman was found bleeding from her face and had been held against her will by Hannon, who was armed with a knife, police said. Police were able to get the woman to safety, but Hannon barricaded himself in the home and stabbed himself in the chest, the affidavit stated. Police surrounded the house and tried to coax him outside. Eventually, Hannon tossed the knife out of a second-story window and came out of the home approximately 9 a.m.

The alleged victim told cops she was sleeping when she awoke to Hannon playing loud music. She went downstairs to see the music blaring from the TV via Hannon”s laptop. She said when she tried to unplug it, Hannon came up from behind her and gave her a bear hug, police wrote. The two struggled and the victim tried to get away by running upstairs. But Hannon followed.

Hannon allegedly armed himself with a knife and pushed the victim to the bed. He then picked up a pair of pajama pants and shoved them down the victim’s mouth, which prevented her from breathing, according to the complaint.

While also brandishing the knife, Hannon allegedly said, “Look what you made me do,” “This is your fault,” and “I’m going to kill you and then make you kill me.” She tried to seek safety in a closet, but Hannon allegedly continued his assault and threats. Once she made it out of the closet, Hannon tackled her to the floor and tried to get her to grab the knife so she could stab him, police said.

The victim stood up and ran toward the back door, but Hannon allegedly stopped her. She thought about jumping out of a front window because she believed Hannon was going to kill her. It was at this point that the police arrived at the home.

Officers recovered bloody bed sheets and pajama pants, which were evidence of a struggle.

Police questioned Hannon, who allegedly admitted there was an altercation in the living room but claimed he “blacked out” during the rest of the ordeal. Hannon was taken to the Centre County Jail, where he is being held without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 1.
