ALACHUA, Fla. – Elesvan Roblero Macario, 61, was arrested yesterday morning after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop and then kicking and hitting the FHP Trooper who apprehended him.
At about 10:02 a.m. on October 1, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Macario near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 441 and NW 173rd Street in Alachua. The trooper reported that Macario fled on foot from his vehicle, and when the trooper caught up to him, Macario physically resisted being handcuffed by aggressively swinging his arms and cell phone at the trooper.
The trooper reportedly brought Macario to the ground, where he allegedly continued to resist by kicking and hitting the trooper, who eventually secured him in handcuffs.
Macario, who told court services he works in construction and has been in the area for about two years, is from Mexico and gave the address of a mailbox service in Alachua as his residential address. He has been charged with resisting an officer with violence and battery on an officer. He has no known criminal history, and Judge Jonathan Ramsey set bail at $10,000.
