GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have arrested 17-year-old Jacquavious Green following an incident involving the theft of a vehicle. During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a stolen shotgun inside the vehicle and a stolen pistol nearby. Three additional juveniles are also facing charges in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries.
The sequence of events began when law enforcement received a tip about a stolen Ford Bronco, taken from the Tower Oaks Glen neighborhood. Officers traced the vehicle to the parking lot of The Lofts at Oasis, located at 2515 SW 35th Place. Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered four juveniles adjacent to the Bronco. Two of these individuals attempted to flee upon the officers’ approach.
Inside the Bronco, officers uncovered a stolen shotgun. Meanwhile, a stolen handgun was found discarded on the ground next to the vehicle, reportedly thrown by one of the juveniles as authorities closed in.
Green was promptly arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center. He faces several charges, including armed burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor, dealing in stolen property, and evidence tampering. The other juveniles involved have been charged through sworn complaints.
Officers identified “numerous” vehicles that had been burglarized, and additional charges are expected for all four juveniles.
