The search continues for an 11-year-old New York boy who has not been seen in weeks.

Sources told the New York Post that the Administration for Children’s Services conducted a welfare check at a Brooklyn apartment on September 25. Case workers reportedly searched the home and found no sign of the boy, whose mother allegedly refused to show a birth certificate.

Someone requested a welfare check on Wednesday, leading the agency back to the apartment. However, NYPD officers accompanied them this time. Authorities still could not find any evidence that the boy lived there, according to the New York Post.

During Wednesday’s visit, a K-9 cadaver dog reportedly detected human blood on a refrigerator in the apartment — which did not have electricity. The 50-year-old woman, who initially denied being the missing boy’s mother, was taken into custody.

WABC identified the missing child as Jacob Pritchette, who is autistic. Neighbors said the boy has not been seen in weeks, while sources told the news outlet that he never attended public school.

Neighbors also revealed to News12 that the mother was heard yelling at Pritchette before he disappeared.

According to the New York Post, Pritchette’s mother is being hospitalized as an emotionally disturbed person. She has not been criminally charged as of Friday.

Officials have not released a photo of the missing boy.
