A southwestern Missouri emergency room doctor missing for more than a week has been found dead in northwestern Arkansas.
John Forsyth’s brother Richard posted a brief notice on Facebook, while the Benton County Sheriff’s Department in Arkansas said it was investigating, KOLR reported.
Forsyth, 49, was reported missing on May 21 when he didn’t show up for his 7 p.m. shift at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, Missouri, CrimeOnline reported. He had also texted with his fiancee that morning but abruptly stopped responded.
His unlocked black Infiniti was later found abandoned in the Cassville Aquatic Center’s waste area with his wallet and keys inside. Several agencies searched the area with K9s and thermal drones but turned up nothing.
Details on the discovery of Forsyth’s body have not been released, but the Associated Press reported that police said there were no signs of foul play, which could have referred only to the discovery of the doctor’s car.

Earlier Tuesday, before the discovery, Richard Forsyth told the AP he was “confused” and “worried.” “And I don’t like this one bit,” he said.
Richard Forsyth said his brother had worked at the Cassville hospital for about 15 years and stayed in a luxury RV nearby when he was working.
