A missing woman from Wisconsin, Gabriella Cartagena, 24, was located by police on Tuesday after she vanished earlier this month, following a troubling message that raised alarm.
ABC 7 has reported that Cartagena’s family has confirmed her passing, though authorities have not yet officially verified this information or provided further details.
The Marinette Police Department expressed their gratitude for public assistance in a Facebook post, stating, “More information will be released as soon as possible. We would like to thank the entire community for the help we have received.”
A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Cartagena’s brother described her death as “completely unexpected,” reflecting the shock felt by her loved ones.
According to earlier reports by CrimeOnline, Cartagena was last seen on February 4 at approximately 5 p.m. in Marinette’s Red Arrow Park. Authorities had classified her disappearance as “involuntarily missing.”
Following a high-speed chase in Monticello, police arrested Robert Chilcote, 29, who had been wanted for questioning in connection with “aggravated assault and possible homicide,” FOX 11 reports.
On Monday, Chilcote appeared in court on an aggravated battery charge.
He’s also charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and being a fugitive from another state.

Loved ones said Cartagena was last seen with Chilcote while leaving to go to a grocery store, and nothing seemed unusual at the time.
However, during a phone call, family members reportedly heard Cartagena say,”Please don’t shoot me. I’m sorry.”
Chilcote remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
The story is developing. Check back for updates.
