In a tragic incident on Thursday, authorities arrested a woman in Washington for allegedly fatally stabbing her 4-year-old son.

The Seattle Times reported that police responded to an emergency call made by the child’s father. He expressed concern about the mother’s suicidal comments and during the call, was heard shouting, “she killed him.”

Upon arrival at the apartment, the father revealed he had found his son facedown in the bathtub. Officers encountered the mother with blood-stained hands. As they took her into custody, she reportedly said, “he’s gone” and “they made me do it.”

According to The Seattle Times, the police discovered the young boy fully dressed in approximately four inches of bloody water. A kitchen knife was found in the bathroom.

The mother allegedly told the police that she “sacrificed” her son due to his “odd” behavior, which included “licking countertops and jumping around.” She also mentioned that her son had autism, as reported by KING.

After stabbing her son once in the chest, the woman allegedly ran down the hallways screaming that she killed him. She said it took a few minutes for her son to die, and that she filled the bathtub with water to “comfort him,” according to The Seattle Times.

The 45-year-old mother has not been publicly named as she has not been formally charged. She remains jailed on $5 million bail.
