A Nebraska man faces charges of killing his ex-fiancee after twice being arrested on domestic violence charges and bonding out.
In fact, Casey Kindt, 54, allegedly barged into the home of 36-year-old Jamie Hagen and shot her multiple times just a day after bonding out of jail for the second time.
āShe talked to the police department, she got the restraining order, got the victimās unit involved. Local law enforcement, they all have been awesome here in Seward,ā Hagenās father, Charles Hagen told KOLN. āSo, did everything right, and it didnāt really do any good.ā
According to court documents, Kindt was arrested on December 16 and charged with terroristic threats, domestic assault, and child abuse for threats against Hagen and her daughter and an attack on Hagen. He was ordered to have no contact with Hagen after he bonded out, but he did and was rearrested in early January.
He bonded out of jail again late last week after a judge minimally raised his bail, and then barged into Hagenās home Saturday night and shot her multiple times. Police found her body and Kindt with what they described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. One of Hagenās children was also inside the home and was not physically harmed, the Nebraska State Patrol said. That child made the 911 call.
āHe was put in jail twice over this and still posted bond. If heād of just stayed in there this wouldnāt have happened,ā Charles Hagen said.
Kindt remains hospitalized with what are described as life-threatening injuries. The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting the homicide investigation and has custody of the killer.
