A man facing charges in the alleged kidnapping of a Pennsylvania woman has also been identified as a suspect in a separate rape case, according to sources.

Authorities have informed WTXF that Keon King is under suspicion for allegedly raping another individual before the disappearance of 23-year-old Kada Scott. Investigators believe King was the last person with Scott before she went missing on October 4, following her early departure from an overnight shift at a nursing facility.

Scott remains unaccounted for, and police suggest that cellphone data places King with her phone the night she disappeared, prior to the phone being switched off. Her vehicle was later discovered parked at her workplace.

Philadelphia Police Captain John Craig noted that Scott does not have a history of vanishing without a trace, and her colleagues observed nothing unusual before her absence. Craig also mentioned that Scott had reported phone harassment to her family shortly before she disappeared.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, King has faced charges twice within the past year for allegedly assaulting a former girlfriend. In those instances, he was accused of kidnapping and choking her inside a vehicle. However, both cases were dismissed when the victim failed to testify in court.

In light of his latest arrest, Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski refiled the prior kidnapping charges against King. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Toczylowski’s office did not handle the previous kidnapping case involving his ex-girlfriend.

Police previously searched the Awbury Arboretum but said they found no sign of Scott on the 55-acre property. However, a law enforcement source told WTXF that Wednesday’s search of an abandoned school near the arboretum led to Scott’s phone case and a card with her name on it.  The school is about two and a half miles from Scott’s job.

WCAU reported that King also has pending charges for driving away from a police officer during a traffic stop and driving without a license. Those trials are scheduled to begin in November and December of this year.

Regarding Scott’s disappearance, King is charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, criminal use of a communication facility, stalking, recklessly endangering another person, and tampering with physical evidence. His bail is set at $2.5 million.
