New insights have surfaced regarding the disappearance of Linda Brown, a special education teacher who went missing on Saturday in Chicago’s Bronzeville area.

The last known sighting of Brown was near her home on South Martin Luther King Drive, specifically in the 4500 block.

FOX 32 Chicago reports that Brown’s family shared on Thursday that surveillance video captured her parking her blue Honda Civic. She was seen exiting the vehicle and walking away.

Linda’s brother-in-law, Lorenzo, informed our “Crime Stories” team that her car was discovered at 35th and Lake Park. The footage revealed her crossing a pedestrian bridge alone on January 3, around 3 a.m.

Her husband, Antwon Brown, stated on Wednesday that the authorities had found her vehicle. However, they have not disclosed further information as the investigation continues.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Brown is said to have left home for an acupuncture appointment in the Wicker Park area on Saturday, but never arrived, according to a Chicago Teachers Union’s online flyer.

Brown told FOX 32 they watched a movie at home the night prior, then went to bed. When he woke up the following morning, she had already left.

“I woke up at 8:45 a.m. and she was gone. She took her purse and credit cards, but I’m thinking she was at acupuncture,” he said.

Antwon added that the disappearance is out of character for his wife, who took her purse and credit cards with her.

Calls and messages to her phone have not been answered.

Antwon said Linda has a history with mental health issues but had never left home before without returning. Chicago police said she may be in need of medical attention.

“I am terrified,” Antwon said, according to NBC Chicago. “I am just shaking. I need my wife home.”

On Monday, Linda Brown’s family retraced her steps in Bridgeport, while contacting area hospitals, ABC 7 reports. They’re hoping the public can help with assistance.

“We don’t know where she is. We need to find her because I’m breaking down and I don’t know what to do,” her husband said.

Brown, a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, is described as standing 5 feet tall and weighing around 130 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion.

CPD urges anyone with information to contact Area One SVU detectives at 312-747-8380.
