In a peculiar turn of events, an Ohio man has been charged with abduction after reportedly commandeering a test drive to conduct personal errands, all while a car dealership employee was still in the vehicle. The indictment was issued earlier this month.

The unusual incident unfolded on December 19, 2025, when 51-year-old Todd Marrs visited Performance Luxury in Marysville, expressing interest in test-driving a Jeep Wrangler, according to a report by WBNS.

During the drive, the sales associate became suspicious as Marrs deviated from the standard test drive route. Her concerns heightened when he made an unexpected stop at a warehouse and lingered in the parking lot for about five minutes. When she urged him to return to the dealership, Marrs allegedly retorted, “No, now you’ll sit there and wait like a good girl.”

Feeling uneasy, the associate discreetly texted her colleagues, sharing her location for safety. However, her attempt to call for help was thwarted when Marrs reportedly seized her phone and tossed it onto the floorboard.

In a further twist, Marrs proceeded to a nearby hospital in Marysville to pick up a friend, informing the associate that they would not be returning to the dealership until he had finished his personal tasks.

Eventually he went back, with his friend now also in the car.

After he was indicted this week on charges of abduction and disrupting public services, he was arraigned and given a $250,000 bond.

He’s due in court again on January 29, Law&Crime said.
