An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with shooting his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in the back of the head while he sang karaoke.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a report of a shooting at Louie’s Corner House in Buckeye Lake just before midnight on July 11.

They found a man, later identified as 42-year-old Benjamin Hawk, dead from a gunshot wound to the back of the head, Law&Crime reported. The sheriff’s office said it identified Richard Lindgren, 59, as the suspect, and launched a search for him.

He was spotted more than 500 miles away in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where he was arrested and is awaiting extradition.

According to the criminal complaint, Hawk and his girlfriend were on the bar’s outdoor patio singing karaoke when Lindgren approached Hawk “from behind, pulled out a small handgun and shot him in the back of the head.” Other bar patrons, who witnessed the shooting, gave chase and called 911, but the killer got away.
