An Ohio resident, Glenn McIntosh, 32, is facing murder charges following the tragic death of his girlfriend’s 5-month-old daughter. This heartbreaking incident occurred on October 13, after McIntosh had been in a relationship with the child’s mother for approximately three months.

According to reports from the Columbus Dispatch, the mother of the infant, Ameira Reynolds, entrusted McIntosh with her care while she stepped out for a short period with her other children. Upon her return, she discovered McIntosh had left the premises suddenly, raising immediate concerns.

Initially, the mother assumed her baby was merely asleep. However, to her horror, she soon realized the child was limp and unresponsive. The infant was rushed to the hospital, where medical professionals discovered multiple skull fractures, indicating severe blunt force trauma. Despite their efforts, the baby tragically succumbed to her injuries later that day, as stated by Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Shania Goble during McIntosh’s court hearing.

In the aftermath, the distraught mother desperately sought answers from McIntosh through text messages. Eventually, he responded, claiming the baby had fallen, but the severity of the injuries suggested otherwise.

The baby girl’s mother “frantically texted McIntosh for answers, Goble said, and eventually he answered that the infant had fallen.

“You asked me to trust you and I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me,” Ameira’s mother wrote in a statement read during the hearing. “You killed my baby girl. My baby didn’t deserve that. I can’t imagine what you put her through.”

McIntosh has been charged with murder and ordered held on a $2 million bond.
