GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Vernon Lamar Littles, 29, and Aunestee Elisabeth Roberts, 22, were arrested yesterday and charged with burglary of an occupied residence and two counts of battery after allegedly forcing their way into an apartment and attacking the two occupants.
At about 2 p.m. yesterday, Littles allegedly kicked in the door to an apartment and entered with Roberts. They then allegedly punched one of the occupants in the head and torso, while another occupant tried to pull them off the first victim. The second victim said both defendants took her cell phone during the struggle.
The second victim reportedly told a Gainesville Police Department officer that the incident started the previous night when the two defendants claimed that the first victim owed them $60. She said the argument continued yesterday and escalated into the attack. The first victim reportedly provided a similar account of the events.

Littles has two felony convictions (none violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (none violent). Judge Walter Green set bail at $19,000.
Roberts has two felony convictions (two violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (one violent). She has served one state prison sentence for battery on detention staff and was released in 2020. She has a pending sworn complaint for petit theft from June 2023. Judge Green set bail at $20,000.
