John Paul Miller has entered a plea of not guilty to charges of cyberstalking and making false statements to investigators. In a move typical of federal cases, he has also waived his right to a speedy trial.

Prosecutors have argued that Miller poses a flight risk. They point to the discovery of a large safe, silver pieces, and valuable baseball cards in his home as potential means to facilitate escape. Additionally, Miller’s access to a private plane raises further concerns. The judge agreed with the prosecution, setting Miller’s bond at $100,000. As part of the conditions, Miller is required to surrender his passport and wear an ankle monitor.

According to grand jury charges, from November 16, 2022, until the tragic death of Mica on April 27, 2024, Miller allegedly engaged in a relentless campaign of harassment against her, lasting 528 days.

The first count against Miller is particularly disturbing. It alleges that he threatened to use nude videos and photos of Mica to harass her, and even went so far as to post a nude photo online without her consent. Additionally, Miller is accused of placing tracking devices on vehicles Mica used, conducting surveillance with intent to harm or intimidate her, damaging her vehicle, and interfering with her finances.

Moreover, Miller is said to have disrupted Mica’s daily activities, adding a further layer of distress to her life during this period.

If he is found guilty of cyberstalking, his sentence could be five years, it could be between nine and 10 years depending on the charges that the jury decides he’s guilty of.

Lying to police could equal another five to eight years behind that he could receive behind bars. So. he could get almost 20 years behind bars.
