Patrick Clancy was seen in public days before his first television interview following the mistrial in the case against his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy.
The 38-year-old was photographed jogging on Sept. 16 while wearing a Boston Children’s Hospital cap. Clancy previously ran the 2024 Boston Marathon in tribute to his late children, Cora, Dawson and Callan.
For that marathon, he wore a shirt bearing the message, “In memory of Cora, Dawson & Callan. Every mile, every day,” across the back.
His latest outing came shortly before his scheduled Sept. 20 interview with 60 Minutes, which will mark his first sit-down conversation since Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended in a mistrial on Sept. 4.
Although Patrick testified during the proceedings and said he has forgiven his former wife, he has largely stayed out of the public eye. He has only occasionally been spotted in New York City with his new wife, Rachel Danis. The couple married in April, more than three years after the deaths of his children.
What Was Lindsay Clancy Accused Of?
Lindsay Clancy’s murder case concerned the deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. The children were killed at their family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on Jan. 24, 2023.
During his testimony, Patrick recounted that Lindsay had asked him that evening to stop at CVS for medication and pick up dinner. When he returned, he found her in the backyard after she had jumped from a second-story window in what was described as an unsuccessful suicide attempt. He then found Cora, Dawson and Callan in the basement, where they had been strangled with exercise bands.

Her attorneys maintained that Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time. Prosecutors, however, argued that the deaths involved “deliberate premeditation and extreme atrocity and cruelty.”
“This was a woman who acted intentionally, rationally and swiftly to accomplish a very specific goal: to kill,” Plymouth County Assistant District Attorney Shanan Buckingham told jurors. “This was a woman who no longer liked the life she thought she wanted.”
What Was Lindsay Clancy’s Defense?
Defense lawyer Kevin Reddington did not challenge that Lindsay Clancy killed the children, but argued that her psychosis left her unable to recognize that her actions were wrong.
“This is a woman that was suffering from psychosis at the time that she went down to that basement,” he told jurors during his opening statement. “She had no motive. She loved her children. She intended to kill herself. She didn’t fake that.”
After the jury could not reach a unanimous decision, with jurors deadlocked 11-1 in favor of declaring her not guilty by reason of insanity, the judge called a mistrial.
Lindsay is due back in court Sept. 29.
