A man from Pennsylvania has been taken into custody following an alleged road rage incident in Bucks County where a woman was shot early Monday evening.

Cristopher Corbi, aged 41, faced a multitude of charges on Tuesday, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and firing missiles into an occupied vehicle. Additional charges include possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, simple assault, and criminal mischief, as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

The victim, Kathryn Runner, recounted the incident to WPVI, explaining that she was driving on the Newtown Bypass shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Monday. She mentioned that she and other motorists began overtaking a vehicle moving slowly. As she passed, she noticed “something shiny” in her peripheral vision.

“I turned to look and saw the barrel of a gun, then my window shattered and I noticed a hole,” Runner described.

In response, Runner called 911 and attempted to follow the suspect’s car to capture the license plate number. However, the gunman abruptly exited the bypass and turned onto a different road, eluding her pursuit.

“He looks like he’s going to go right, and then he slammed on the brakes and got out of the car and shot at me two more times,” she said.

One of those shots hit Runner, who was still on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, in the hand.

“I definitely was screaming at the 911 operator that he is shooting at me, and then I had my hand up and I thought I was actually hit here, because I felt my two fingers just go numb,” she said.

Runner said she’s confused by what happened, saying she did nothing to warrant being shot.

“So, and what gets me is, there were a lot of cars that passed him, what made him choose me?” she said.

Corbi was ordered held on a $1 million bail.
