WALDO, Fla. – After an exhaustive search, the subject in this incident, Douglas Allen Terrell, was successfully apprehended and booked on charges from Bradford County.

ASO extends its sincere appreciation to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, and Alachua County Fire Rescue for providing substantial assistance.

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) was contacted by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office regarding a violent felon who is wanted out of their county for several felony charges involving a firearm.

The information received was that the wanted subject was believed to be staying within a structure in Waldo on U.S. Hwy 301 near the Waldo Flea Market, where our deputies responded. While on scene, deputies developed credible information to believe the subject was contained and refusing to exit.

Based upon the current charges involving the use or threat of a firearm, the ASO Special Operations Division was consulted and responded with numerous resources. ASO is also receiving substantial assistance from the Alachua County Fire Rescue drone team, as well as the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office drone team.

There is no perceived threat to the public at large. We are asking all members of the public to please avoid the area until this incident can be resolved.
