In Virginia, authorities have apprehended a woman and her boyfriend following a domestic disturbance call that led to the discovery of their 5-month-old daughter in need of urgent medical care due to her injuries.
According to the Culpeper Police Department, the infant was initially taken to UVA-Culpeper Medical Center and subsequently transferred to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, where she is undergoing treatment for severe, life-threatening injuries.
Brittnei Mosher, aged 20, and her partner, Alexander Lowe, aged 22, now face charges of child abuse and neglect. They have been detained without the possibility of bail.
The child is currently in protective custody, and legal protection orders have been issued against Mosher and Lowe, including stipulations to prevent any contact with the infant.
