Quinton Peters, 22, posted $15,000 bond following his arrest, a day after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend at her home in Arnold, Missouri. According to a probable cause statement reviewed by Law&Crime, Peters went to his girlfriend’s home after finding out that she had sold his Xbox gaming console. Her reason for selling the Xbox: She found out Peters was allegedly cheating on her.

According to the probable cause statement, the alleged incident occurred on Sept. 7. The girlfriend, who was not named in the report, told police that during the altercation, Peters allegedly threw her onto her bed, causing her child to come to her aid.

The statement said that Peters also allegedly threw the child onto the bed. Police said the child was not injured during the alleged scuffle.

Peters’ alleged attack on his girlfriend continued when he “plac[ed] his hands around [her] neck” and lifted her off the floor, pinning her to a wall. He then allegedly banged her head against the wall repeatedly while still holding her by the neck. The girlfriend told police she could not breathe throughout the ordeal.

Peters eventually released his girlfriend, and she “collapsed onto the floor.” Police stated that she had red marks on her neck when they interviewed her. The statement said that she refused emergency medical treatment.

A warrant for Peters’ arrest was issued and he was taken into custody on Sept. 8. He was charged with domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
