A 32-year-old man in Wisconsin is accused of fatally shooting his younger sister then going to the police station and confessing, telling detectives he was fed up after years of being bullied by the 22-year-old woman.
Gerardo Jimenez-Rico was taken into custody last week and charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide in the slaying of Jocelyn Jimenez, records reviewed by Law&Crime show. Jimenez-Rico is also accused of shooting his parents, age 56 and 54, for the same reason. The mother and father were both injured but ultimately survived, and Jimenez-Rico was charged with two additional counts of first-degree attempted homicide in connection with their injuries.
All three of the charges levied against Jimenez-Rico are attached with two modifiers, one for domestic abuse with infliction of physical pain or injury and another for the use of a dangerous weapon.
Officers with the Milwaukee Police Department at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, responded to a call about a shooting in the area of 40th Street and Cheyenne Street, according to a report from Milwaukee Fox affiliate WITI. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders said they entered the home and quickly located three adults suffering from gunshot wounds. The youngest victim — later identified as Jimenez — was pronounced dead on the scene.
The injured female reportedly told officers that her son, Jimenez-Rico, was the one who shot her, her husband, and her daughter.
Authorities had barely begun the search for Jimenez-Rico before he reportedly walked into the District One Milwaukee Police station and said he “shot someone” before confessing to the attack on his own family, a criminal complaint obtained by Milwaukee ABC affiliate WISN says.

In a subsequent interview with detectives, Jimenez-Rico reportedly said that the other members of his family had just returned from a monthlong trip to Mexico earlier that day. Jimenez-Rico said he was unemployed and broke, which is why he did not accompany them on the trip.
Jimenez-Rico reportedly explained that his family often “gangs up on him because he is unemployed and he feels they bully him.”
He further relayed how, just prior to the shooting, his father and sister had been complaining about him leaving dirty dishes in the sink and made reference to Jimenez-Rico soon having to find another place to live.
Jimenez-Rico reportedly said that as the two continued haranguing him, he pulled the pistol that was tucked into the waistband of his pants and fired at his father.
“He was just fed up with putting up with the bullying from his father and his sister,” the complaint reportedly states, adding that Jimenez-Rico claimed such bullying had been ongoing for several years.
Jimenez-Rico reportedly said that his sister responded by picking up a knife, so he opened fire on her. Jimenez-Rico then allegedly shot his mother, though he told detectives that “he did not intend to shoot his mother and he could not explain why he did,” per WISN.
A GoFundMe page for Jimenez’s 4-year-old daughter and parents said she was the victim of “an unimaginable turn of events.”
“This horrific incident has left Jocelyn’s family, including her fiance, older sister, and young daughter, in unbearable grief,” the page says. “Jocelyn’s little girl is now left without her mother, and her family is facing overwhelming challenges, including therapy costs, hospital bills, rehabilitation expenses, and essential living costs for her parents.”
