A New Hampshire man”s alleged crime spree came to an abrupt end when police found him running around a motorcycle shop without a shirt.

Zacharie Hart, 29, was arrested by Manchester police on Monday after he became the main suspect in a series of alleged crimes in the area. According to the Manchester Police Department, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a local business. Shortly after that, police received reports of a possible suspect, later identified as Hart, running through the area.

Police caught up with Hart near a motorcycle shop after the suspect gave chase — and then they found out that he had allegedly struck elsewhere.

According to court documents obtained by local ABC affiliate WMUR, employees of a local business reported a burglary after hearing glass shattering and seeing a man in gray shorts with no shirt running through their parking lot. After police arrived to investigate, dispatchers received reports of a burglary at a second business as well as a possible carjacking in a neighborhood nearby.

In a Facebook post about Hart’s arrest, police stated that the suspect was found “running through a yard” and apprehended after a brief chase. Around the same time, police said they found an “unoccupied, crashed vehicle” in a dead end. Police said it appeared that the vehicle had crashed into signs and bollards.

Police said that after Hart was arrested, they received reports of a possible armed robbery. Court documents stated that an elderly woman was allegedly assaulted with a metal pipe when the suspect, believed to be Hart, attempted to break into her home. A second individual was also allegedly attacked by Hart.

A metal pipe was found in the abandoned vehicle, according to police.

According to court documents, Hart allegedly stole two sets of keys during the robbery and drove off with the woman’s car before crashing it at the dead end.

Police stated, “After obtaining video footage from multiple sources, it became evident to police that Hart was the suspect in all of the incidents.”

Hart was charged with two counts of burglary, armed robbery, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, attempted first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of conduct after an accident, two counts of felony criminal mischief, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, violation of bail conditions, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

WMUR reported that Hart was previously convicted for criminal threatening in 2020 and a drug charge in 2023.
