Authorities in Texas are seeking assistance from the public to track down a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian on a scooter.
The tragic event occurred late at night on October 18, around 11:30 p.m., near Austin’s downtown area. A truck collided with 33-year-old Khaled Saadeddine at the intersection of East 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard.
Emergency teams transported Saadeddine to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he did not survive the injuries sustained in the collision. The Austin Police Department confirmed that Saadeddine was pronounced dead the following day.
In an effort to identify the suspect, the Austin Police have shared an image of the truck involved in the October 18 hit-and-run.
This incident marks Austin’s 78th fatal traffic collision this year, contributing to a total of 82 traffic-related deaths in the area.
