GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Andrew Keith Woodham, 35, was arrested yesterday for domestic battery and kicking a deputy in the chest; he was also booked on a warrant for violating probation.
At about 11:30 a.m. on August 1, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Pine Meadow Apartments (7025 W. University Avenue), where the victim said Woodham had punched her in the face and pulled her hair.
Post Miranda, Woodham reportedly gave inconsistent explanations for the incident.
While deputies were placing him in a patrol vehicle, he reportedly became combative and allegedly started kicking the window. When a deputy opened the door of the vehicle to speak to Woodham, he allegedly tried to get out of the vehicle and was further restrained; while deputies were restraining him, he allegedly kicked a deputy in the chest and tried to bite the deputy.
Woodham has been charged with domestic battery with a prior conviction and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Woodham was arrested in November 2024 for telling a delivery driver he lived at an apartment and then accepting a TV that was being delivered to the apartment and walking away with the TV. He entered a plea of nolo contendere to the charge and was sentenced to six months of Community Control (house arrest) in March 2025. On June 3, he was charged via sworn complaint with child abuse after allegedly taking his young child to the Baymont Inn, where he didn’t have a room, and falling asleep while the child wandered around the lobby; despite a prohibition on using any illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages, he was allegedly so drunk that he had to be transported to an emergency room. The charge was later dropped.
On July 16, his probation officer filed an affidavit stating that Woodham had violated his house arrest by committing child abuse and by being at the Baymont Inn at 1 a.m. instead of being at home. A warrant for his arrest was issued on August 1.
Woodham has 11 felony convictions (one violent) and 16 misdemeanor convictions (one violent); he has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2022. Judge Tatum Davis ordered Woodham held without bail until the violation of probation case is resolved and set bail on the new charges at $100,000.
