Recently unsealed documents have disclosed that Bryan Kohberger’s sister was included on the prosecution’s witness list for the trial that was anticipated to occur earlier this year.
According to a report from PEOPLE, Amanda Kohberger was also listed as a witness for her brother’s defense.
She stood out as the sole family member of the Kohbergers named on the prosecution’s list for testimony during the trial’s guilt phase, as noted by the publication.
Bryan Kohberger entered a guilty plea for the murders of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves. Consequently, he was sentenced to four life terms and avoided the death penalty, as reported by CrimeOnline.
Among the victims’ immediate families, the only individuals on the prosecution’s witness list were Hunter and Mazie Chapin, Ethan Chapin’s triplet siblings. They, too, were students at the University of Idaho and present at the scene on the morning when the victims’ bodies were found, according to PEOPLE.
Amanda Kohberger was also on the list of potential witnesses during the mitigation phase of the trial, which would have followed a guilty verdict. Her sister, Melissa, and their parents, Michael and Maryann Kohberger, were also on that list.
