Authorities in Georgia are actively searching for a prominent dentist who vanished earlier this week. The dentist, Melanie Nadler Litt, 52, has been missing since Monday, prompting a police investigation.
Last seen departing her job at a dental office located on Villa Rica Way in Marietta, Litt did not appear for her shift the following day at Family Dentistry at Seven Hills in Dallas. Concerned for her safety, her colleagues reached out to law enforcement to conduct a welfare check, as reported by FOX 5.
Officers received permission from Litt’s husband, Lesley Litt, to access their Marietta residence, where they found the house vacant.
During their search, Cobb County police discovered Litt’s work bag and her switched-off cellphone near the entrance. However, her car and wallet were notably absent.
The investigation did not uncover any immediate evidence of criminal activity, according to ANF.
The husband later arrived at the residence from the airport and told police nothing appeared to be missing. Lesley told FOX 5 that he was visiting their son at college in a different state at the time of her disappearance.
“We all want to see her home and safe, and we love her dearly,” he said.
A friend, Carolyn Watson Patt, had similar feelings on Litt’s appearance.
“That’s completely out of character for her, completely,” she said. “She has a whole village of people who love her. We’re worried 24/7 right now.”
Litt’s friends said police later located her vehicle abandoned in a “large parking lot” on Barrett Parkway in Cobb County, according to ANF.
Litt is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 1 inch tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
If you have any information about Litt or her whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact the Cobb County Police Department at (770) 499-3900, or dial 911.
