A woman from Florida found herself behind bars after reportedly assaulting a sheriff’s deputy who had advised her to stop misusing 911 to request a ride home.

Baylee Jordan Graham, 30, was taken into custody on Tuesday by an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The incident unfolded when authorities responded to a McDonald’s in Gainesville, where Graham was allegedly refusing to exit the bathroom. As reported by Law&Crime, once the deputy arrived at the location shortly after midnight, Graham initially provided a false name during their interaction.

After eventually leaving the restroom, the deputy assisted Graham by charging her phone so she could arrange her own transportation. Instead, Graham reportedly dialed 911, requesting a ride home from emergency services.

The report indicates that as Graham walked away, the deputy observed her making another 911 call. During this call, she informed dispatchers that she was at a nearby Circle K and needed a ride. The deputy explained to Graham that such misuse of 911 is illegal and even offered to drive her home. However, Graham, who still hadn’t disclosed her real identity, declined the offer.

Subsequently, authorities claim that Graham proceeded to dial 911 once more to ask for a ride home.

Dispatchers informed police, including the deputy at the scene, that Graham was still allegedly calling 911 asking for a ride. The deputy told her multiple times to stop, and Graham ignored her. When the deputy approached Graham from behind and took her by the arm, Graham allegedly whipped around and struck the deputy in the face, saying, “Do not touch me” and “Get your hands off me, b—.”

By this time, more deputies showed up to assist in arresting Graham, who was put in handcuffs. As she allegedly resisted arrest, she put her foot in the way of the vehicle’s door.

The deputy wrote that Graham called 911 a total of 14 times.

While in the patrol car, the deputy said she overheard Graham say “something about not being prepared.” The deputy asked her what she meant, and she allegedly told the deputy, “In any other situation, I would have probably killed you.”

Graham was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and misuse of 911. She is in custody at the Alachua County Jail where she is being held on $35,000 bond.
