GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a recent incident, Amy Lyn Davis, a 47-year-old resident of Chiefland, has been taken into custody. She is accused of failing to deposit funds for Perkins Restaurant, amounting to $3,884.05, for her personal use.
According to an officer from the Gainesville Police Department, the restaurant submitted surveillance footage that allegedly shows Davis leaving the premises with the deposits on April 17, April 20, and April 24. The establishment reported that these instances were part of a series of six deposits, intended between April 16 and April 24, which were not completed, totaling the aforementioned sum.
Davis is now facing charges of grand theft. Notably, she has no prior criminal convictions. Judge William Davis has permitted her release on her own recognizance.
