A Queens man has been charged in the deaths of his brother and mother, who were both mysteriously found dead last week in the New York City borough.

Roscoe Danielson, 40, is facing a slew of charges related to the deaths of his brother, Kyle Danielson, and his mother, who police haven’t formally identified, pending family notification, the New York City Police Department confirmed in a statement to Oxygen.com. The second victim has been identified as 58-year-old Sheryl Myrick by the New York Post.

Roscoe was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of stolen property and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17.

On July 5, police found 31-year-old Kyle dead inside a garbage bag in Corona, Queens. He had a puncture wound in his back, according to authorities.

“It was there for a while until anyone realized there was a body,” one Queens resident told ABC 7. “It kind of just looked like another piece of garbage because it was fully covered until someone reported it and I guess someone took a peek and then realized it was a body.”

The following day, Myrick was found dead inside her home after police carried out a welfare check at her residence. The Queens woman, who was found unresponsive, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she’d suffered trauma to the torso. According to law enforcement sources cited by the Post, Myrick suffered stab wounds and several gunshot wounds. Oxygen.com was unable to independently verify these reports.

No murder charges have been filed in the pair of deaths. Kyle and Myrick’s cause of death hasn’t yet been released by officials. Oxygen.com has reached out to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further information.

Investigators, however, at this point, suspect that Roscoe is at least responsible for moving his brother’s body. Surveillance footage obtained by the Post allegedly captured the 40-year-old dragging his brother’s body along the sidewalk in the trash bag he was found in. He later allegedly left the scene pushing a shopping cart that appeared to have a bottle of bleach inside it.

“We’ve obtained search warrants based on video surveillance that have him removing that body from that house,” Joseph Kenny, assistant chief of the NYPD’s Detective Bureau, told WNBC.

Kyle’s family described him as a “great guy” and a “jewel,” according to the Post. The family is now eager for answers as police continue their investigation into the case.

“Sometimes we don’t have answers as human beings,” said Andre Myrick, the brother of Myrick, and the uncle of Kyle. “I am going to die. We are all going to die one day, but we just want to go the right way, not the wrong way like how my sister went.”

The case remains open and active. It’s unclear if Roscoe had retained legal counsel to comment on his behalf.
