Sheriff Unveils Eerie Photos of Suspect Linked to Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

Authorities have unveiled unsettling new photos capturing a masked figure at the residence of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie. These images, released by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on February 10, depict a person clad in a ski mask, black gloves, a jacket, and pants, ominously standing at the door of the Tucson home on February 1. Some of the photos offer a closer look at the individual, though their face remains obscured by the mask.

In a statement obtained by Oxygen, the sheriff’s department explained, “Through collaboration with our partners, law enforcement has managed to uncover these newly accessible images,” which reveal an armed individual seemingly tampering with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning she vanished.

The sheriff’s office noted that these images might have been “lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to various factors, such as the removal of recording devices” from the premises. However, with the assistance of private sector partners, they successfully retrieved the images from “residential data located in backend systems.”

The authorities have chosen not to disclose further details at this time, urging anyone with information regarding the masked individual to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI, 520-351-4900, 88-CRIME, or visit tips.fbi.gov.

Savannah shared the images on Instagram just minutes after law enforcement authorities released the photos, writing, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.”

The sheriff’s office declined to release any future information, instructing anyone with information about the masked individual to call 1-800-CALL-FBI,  520-351-4900, 88-CRIME or visit tips.fbi.gov.

Timeline of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a press conference Feb. 5 that Nancy was last seen the evening of Jan. 31 after she was dropped off at home by a family member around 9:48 p.m.

Early the next morning, around 1:47 a.m., Nanos said the doorbell camera at the house was disconnected and software detected a person or motion on a camera at 2:12 a.m., although at the time, the images could not be recovered.

Nancy’s pacemaker app disconnected from her phone a few minutes later at 2:28 a.m. She was reported missing the next morning after she did not make it to church and a friend reached out to the family, Nanos said.

Authorities believe Nancy was taken from her home against her will after discovering her blood outside on the porch.

Savannah Guthrie Makes Plea For Help

The latest development in the case comes just one day after Savannah made an emotional plea to the public for help finding her missing 84-year-old mother.

“We believe our mother is still out there. We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home, trying to find her,” she said. “She was taken and we don’t know where and we need your help.”

Savannah added that the family was “at an hour of desperation.”
