In a tragic development, two teenagers from Florida have been formally charged in the murder of Danika Troy, a 14-year-old from Pace, whose body was discovered earlier this month. The indictment was announced on Friday.
According to FOX 10, the accused, Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, are facing accusations of first-degree premeditated murder following the fatal shooting of Danika, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
As previously reported by CrimeOnline, authorities allege that the suspects enticed Danika into a secluded wooded area, where they shot her. The report further details the horrific act, stating that they subsequently doused her body with gasoline and set it ablaze.
Concern arose when Danika’s mother reported her missing after she failed to return home with her scooter. Initially filed as a runaway case on December 1, the grim reality unfolded when her charred remains were found in the vicinity of Pace the next day.
The Pensacola News Journal cites a witness who purportedly revealed that Williams and Blevins had meticulously planned the murder, shedding light on the chilling premeditation involved in the case.
According to the witness, Blevins said, “The initial plan was to shoot Danika once, but Gabriel continued to shoot. They then burned Danika’s body and left the area.”
An arraignment for both defendants is scheduled for January 8, according to FOX 10.
