A man from South Carolina is facing serious allegations, having been detained and accused of sexually abusing his 14-year-old stepdaughter over an extended period. Authorities also claim the girl’s mother was fully aware of the ongoing abuse.

The accused, Andrew Joseph Martin, aged 38, is charged with criminal sexual conduct involving a minor. Meanwhile, Misty Danielle Norris, 35, is charged as an accessory and for unlawful neglect of a child. According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, additional charges against Martin may soon follow.

The investigation by the sheriff’s office was initiated last month when they were called to the Martin-Norris residence. There, they encountered a young girl seeking assistance from law enforcement, although the initial reason for their visit remains undisclosed.

Investigators revealed that evidence indicates Martin had been abusing the girl for several years, coercing her into silence about the harrowing experiences.

Reports suggest that Norris confessed to being aware of the obscene interactions between Martin and the minor.

Martin is currently behind bars in neighboring Oconee County, where he was arrested on January 2 on a bench warrant from 2017 for Westminster, jail records show.
