The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has released an age progression photo of Summer Wells, a Hawkins County girl who hasn’t been seen since 2021.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Summer’s parents Don Wells and Candus Bly have both said they believe she was kidnapped, though a spokesperson for TBI said that investigators have not found any evidence that Summer was abducted.

She was reportedly last seen walking away from her home off of Bell Hill Road on June 15, 2021. Despite exhaustive efforts, no suspects have been formally named and Summer remains missing.

TBI said that investigators have not ruled out foul play.

Today, Summer would be nine years old.

“The case is one that we’ve just not been able to overcome. And it’s troubling,” TBI Assistant Director Josh Melton said, according to NewsNation.

“We don’t have the evidence in this case to know for sure whether or not Summer was abducted or whether or not she walked away from her home and became lost.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
