GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Bre’shaun Jacedrick Harrison, 17, and Elijah J. Thomas, 17, have been charged as adults with armed robbery after allegedly stealing an e-bike at gunpoint from a 15-year-old.

At about 6:35 p.m. on March 3, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 800 block of SW 64th Terrace (near the SWAG Family Resource Center), where the 15-year-old victim and 16-year-old witness said three juvenile black males approached them and asked if the victim wanted to sell his e-bike. The victim said that when he refused, one of the males pulled a handgun from his waistband and pushed it into his chest while forcibly taking the e-bike. The three males fled in the direction of Hidden Oaks Mobile Home Park.

Deputies collected video from Hidden Oaks Mobile Home Park and reportedly found three suspects passing the cameras at the intersection of SW 8th Avenue and Squire Drive about two minutes before the call from the victim. A deputy reported that one of the males, wearing all black, was riding the e-bike, and about a minute later, two black males walked in the same direction: one was wearing a green top and had shoulder-length dreadlocks, and the other had a thin build and was wearing a black head covering, gray hoodie, and black pants. The male riding the bike was later identified as Harrison, and the one wearing a green top was later identified as Thomas. According to court documents, both of them are students at Buchholz High School.

Thomas was arrested on March 6. Post Miranda, he reportedly admitted his involvement in the incident. Thomas has a juvenile conviction from this year.

Harrison was arrested on March 10. Post Miranda, he reportedly refused to answer any questions. Harrison has juvenile convictions spanning 2019 to 2025.

Both defendants were formally charged as adults with armed robbery on March 28, and Judge William Davis ordered them transferred to the Alachua County Jail and held without bail. At their First Appearance hearings this morning, Judge Meshon Rawls ordered them held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold them without bail until trial.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
