The suspect in Saturday’s deadly shooting at a Texas outlet mall has been identified as Mauricio Garcia, 33.

Garcia was killed by a lone police officer who was at the mall on an unrelated call when the shooting started. He located the source of the gunfire and killed the gunman, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

The suspected gunman killed eight people and wounded seven others. The City of Allen said that four patients remained at Medical City McKinney, one in fair condition and three in critical condition. One patient was in fair condition at Medical City Plano, and another was in fair condition at Medical City Children’s Hospital. The seventh patient was treated at another hospital, and their condition wasn’t known

Two law enforcement sources told NBC News on Sunday that Garcia was a suspected neo-Nazi sympathizer.

Garcia lived in Dallas, NBC reported, and was wearing a tactical vest when he opened fire at Allen Premium Outlets, ultimately killing eight people and wounding seven others. He was armed with a long rifle and a handgun, the network said, and he had a patch on his chest with a right-wing acronym.

One of the sources said that Garcia had multiple social media accounts and appeared to be drawn to white supremacist and neo-Nazi content.

Even so, officials said it too early to ascribe a motive to Garcia’s actions.

Investigators found more weapons and ammunition in his car.

A next door neighbor, who asked to be identified only as Julie, told NBC that Garcia “seemed a little off.”

“He wasn’t somebody you could carry a conversation with,” she said.

Earlier, CrimeOnline reported that investigators were at the home he shared with his parents in northeast Dallas, where neighbors told WFAA that he had “certain unusual and quiet behaviors.”
