An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Texas man, who was gunned down while mowing his lawn.
12 News Now reports that on Saturday, shortly after 1:30 p.m., Brian Lewis, 51, was shot while mowing his yard in the 1900 block of Delaware Street in Beaumont. Officers with the Beaumont Police Department arrived to find Lewis unresponsive on his front yard.
EMS pronounced Lewis dead at the scene.
A neighbor told the police that they witnessed Lewis mowing the yard when a person on a motorcycle drove up, shot Lewis, and drove away. The Beaumont Police Department said the driver left, heading west on Delaware Street.
The police believe the driver is Larry Fitzgerald Williams, 54. An arrest warrant has been issued for Williams.
The Beaumont Police Department is urging anyone in the area with video recordings or who saw the incident to call 409-832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS (8477).
