NEWBERRY, Fla. – Ryder Skye Mock, aged 29, found himself in legal trouble following an alleged assault involving a metal pipe that resulted in extensive damage to a woman’s pickup truck.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on April 9, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy. Mock reportedly engaged in a heated argument with the victim before lashing out at her vehicle. He is accused of smashing the front and rear driver’s side windows, the side mirror, and the front windshield. Additionally, he supposedly dented the front grill, both doors, and the front quarter panel on the driver’s side. It is estimated that the repairs could exceed $1,000.
The victim is said to have captured the ordeal on video, which reportedly shows her expressing her desire to leave while Mock continues his assault on the truck with the metal pipe. The deputy noted the victim’s fear of being struck during the incident.
Mock faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony property damage. His criminal history includes three felony convictions—one involving violence—and three non-violent misdemeanor convictions. Currently on probation for two drug-related cases, Mock has previously served time in state prison, with his release occurring in 2022. Senior Judge Bo Bayer has ordered him to be held without bail pending a State Attorney’s Office motion to keep him detained until trial. Should the motion be denied, bail will be determined in a forthcoming hearing.
