Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff survived a terrifying attack after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle.
Shroff, known for films such as War and Baaghi as well as his professional soccer career, was leaving soccer practice in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb on the evening of Oct. 18 when three men fired at his vehicle, India Today reported. Shroff was unharmed, but his driver and the driver of an autorickshaw sustained injuries, according to the outlet.
The attackers escaped on a motorcycle before abandoning it outside Andheri railway station.
Authorities later detained all three suspects in Rajasthan on Oct. 19, according to the BBC.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reportedly visited Shroff following the shooting and said the 36-year-old actor was “shaken” by the incident, the outlet reported.
“These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated,” Shinde said.

“It was a horrifying incident for Bollywood, and anyone who watches the video will be shaken,” the organization wrote. “Mumbai’s streets have once again been stained with blood. Tiger Shroff and his family are living in fear.”
In a letter to India’s Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah, the large union cited other attacks involving Bollywood figures, including gunfire outside actor Salman Khan’s home, a knife attack outside Saif Ali Khan’s residence and repeated attacks targeting comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. The group called for protection for Shroff’s family and a comprehensive investigation into the violence.
“If such attacks on Bollywood actors continue, and if the fear of the underworld persists, leading actors and well-known people in the film industry may be forced to leave Mumbai out of fear and move elsewhere,” they wrote. “This would be a grave loss for the film industry, the livelihoods of thousands of families, Mumbai’s industry and the country.”
Authorities have not identified who they believe ordered or carried out the shooting. However, local media reports cited by the BBC say a person claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility in a viral social media post.
Police have not publicly connected the shooting to the gang, and the authenticity of the social media post remains unverified.
