Authorities in South Carolina are delving into a chilling investigation after an elderly couple was discovered deceased in their residence last week. The grim discovery has since been classified as a double homicide by law enforcement officials.
Family members, concerned after being unable to contact 76-year-old Larry Moore and 75-year-old Sandra Moore, alerted the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, officers found the couple lifeless in their home last Thursday. The sheriff’s office announced this through a Facebook post.
Although the coroner’s office confirmed that the couple succumbed to “traumatic injuries,” specific details regarding these injuries have been withheld. This decision aims to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, as per the sheriff’s request, as reported by WYFF.
Investigators are making a public appeal for assistance, encouraging anyone with security footage or knowledge of any unusual activity in the area to come forward. The last known interaction with the couple was earlier in the week, heightening the urgency for information.
Larry and Sandra Moore were well-known in their community, having been active members of Calvary Church and previously managing a fish camp until their retirement in 2016. Their tragic deaths have left a deep impact on those who knew them.
