A 28-year-old woman from Cleveland faces aggravated murder charges after the tragic discovery of two young girls, partially buried in suitcases, earlier this week.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Aliyah Henderson, the mother of the victims, according to a report by WJW.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office named the deceased as 10-year-old Amor Wilson and 8-year-old Mila Chatman. Prior DNA analysis confirmed the girls were half-sisters, as detailed by CrimeOnline.

The grim discovery was made on Monday when a local’s dog sniffed out an unusual spot off a remote path. The concerned dog walker alerted authorities, leading officers to uncover the first suitcase and then a second one nearby.

On Wednesday night, police executed a search warrant, subsequently detaining Henderson for questioning, and subsequently charged her.

WOIO reported that a third child was found in the home and is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services. That child appeared to be in good health, police said.

A cause of death for the two girls has not yet been determined.
