In a shocking development, two teenagers from Florida face charges following the brutal murder of a 14-year-old girl, whose body was discovered set on fire. Authorities announced the charges on Thursday, days after the tragic incident.
Santa Rosa County law enforcement officials allege that 16-year-old Gabriel Williams and 14-year-old Kimahri Blevins orchestrated a plan to lure Danika Troy to a secluded wooded area. Once there, they reportedly shot her multiple times, then set her body ablaze using gasoline. The grim details emerged after Troy’s mother reported her missing, noting her absence alongside her scooter.
Initially reported as a runaway on December 1, Troy’s charred remains were found the next day in Pace, intensifying the investigation and leading to the swift apprehension of the suspects.
According to the Pensacola Journal, a witness came forward with information that pointed to a calculated plot by Blevins and Williams to murder Troy. The witness recounted Blevins’ admission, stating, “The initial plan was to shoot Danika once, but Gabriel continued to shoot. They then burned Danika’s body and left the area.”
According to the witness, Blevins said, “The initial plan was to shoot Danika once, but Gabriel continued to shoot. They then burned Danika’s body and left the area.”
Williams allegedly told investigators that Troy made “hurtful comments” to him about being “worthless and a gang-banger” which upset him. Additional details regarding the slaying — specifically Williams’ confession — have been redacted in publicly-available court documents.
Williams and Blevins are charged with premeditated murder.
