In a tragic discovery on Monday, two teenagers were found shot dead on a secluded road in Hinds County, Mississippi. The victims, identified as Terry Burrell Jr. and Khloe Hudson, both 16, were discovered by sanitation workers around midday.
According to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, both teens had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Their disappearance had been reported to the Jackson Police Department within the previous 24 hours, adding urgency to the search before their bodies were found.
Tyree Jones, who serves as both the Jackson Police Chief and the Sheriff of Hinds County, reported that investigators suspect the shootings occurred at the location where the bodies were found, just northwest of Jackson. However, authorities are not dismissing the possibility of another crime scene elsewhere.
As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind this double homicide remains unclear. Despite wearing his Jackson Police Department uniform at the scene, Jones emphasized that the sheriff’s office would spearhead the investigation, with support from both Jackson and Capitol police forces.
Jones did not identify any suspects or any potential motive for the double slaying. Although he was wearing his Jackson PD uniform at the time, Jones said the investigation would be led by the sheriff’s office with assistance from Jackson and Capitol police.
Anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s office at 601-352-1521 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
