Authorities in Arizona are currently delving into a suspected hit-and-run incident after a woman was discovered lifeless on a Tucson street on Monday.
Identified as 75-year-old Sally Alcaraz Rodriguez, she was found on a roadway, with her belongings located to the west of where her body lay. The Tucson police have expressed uncertainty about the precise location of the collision, as reported by the Arizona Daily Star.
According to KVOA, evidence and witness statements indicate that a vehicle may have abandoned Rodriguez on the road, which is where she was ultimately found.
Rodriguez was reportedly en route to her job as a caregiver for a centenarian patient on the night of the incident, her family shared with KOLD.
Her son-in-law remarked, “It’s a dimly lit neighborhood. Had there been better lighting, perhaps someone might have seen something and intervened to prevent this tragedy.”
Investigators described the suspect’s car as a dark-colored sports car. The suspect’s description was not provided.
Rodriguez’s death is being investigated as a hit-and-run. Anyone who has information regarding this case can call anonymously at 88-CRIME.
