In the early hours of Saturday, a man tragically lost his life in downtown Los Angeles after allegedly inflicting fatal injuries on himself, including severing his own genitalia.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTAL that officers were dispatched to the corner of Figueroa Street and Pico Boulevard at approximately 3:40 a.m., following reports of a man harming himself.
Authorities quickly cordoned off the area, erecting a white tent to shield the public from the gruesome scene.
According to KTAL, a photographer from OnSceneTV managed to capture graphic images depicting the man, who appeared to have suffered a severe injury to his groin, resulting in his death from blood loss.
The photographs reportedly showed the man with a wound around the groin area.
The man reportedly mutilated himself by also slicing his throat, stabbing himself, and attempting to cut off his arm, according to what TMZÂ gathered from law enforcement sources.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased. It is unclear what he used to mutilate himself or why.
