Lartey Solomon, a well-known health influencer affectionately referred to as “Nurse Solomon” by his followers, was tragically shot and killed in Oakland, California, on May 31. In the latest development, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Shacory Carnell Daniels has been charged with his murder.
Daniels, aged 39, is facing a murder charge under Section 187 of the California Penal Code, according to an official press release. Additionally, he faces special allegations, including felony murder, personal and intentional discharge of a firearm, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition due to his status as a convicted felon.
Having been arraigned on June 8, Daniels is expected to return to court on June 30 for a plea hearing, as stated by the district attorney’s office.

Solomon, who was 33 years old, is reported by his family to have been killed during what they describe as an attempted robbery.
In a conversation with KTVU Fox 2, Solomon’s mother, Florence Edwards, recounted that her son had just left a nightclub with a friend at 2:45 a.m. when a man approached him, initiating conversation with a compliment.
“This man approached him again and said, ‘Give me your chain,’” his mother told the outlet. “My son says, ‘You can have…’ He was ready to take off everything.”

Prior to his death, Solomon had built a dedicated online audience through his motivational health content. The TikToker amassed over 20,000 followers, and was known for his uplifting content about health-related topics.
Friends and family have since paid tribute to Solomon online, remembering the positive energy he brought to both his profession and digital platform.
His family described him as “young, energetic and fun-loving,” per a GoFundMe. “He had an infectious smile and a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved.”
They hope he is remembered “for the compassion he showed,” the page noted, “the sacrifices he made, and the love he poured into the world every single day of his life.”
